Decent Priced, Excellent Food

After a few years living in FLR, you try to find the restaurants which don't cater to tourists. This for the simple reason that the food will be better, since the locals would refuse to eat the bruschette/bistecce/prosciutto etc in some of the tourist-traps. This is the reason why I thought to post this restaurant on here. It's nice, outside the old gate on the other side of florence, and because it is rather difficult to find, it is really a place you have to know. Pricewise you'll have a good meal with antipasto, main, wine, etc. for about 20-25 euros. The main reason to go there is that they do tuscan food well: freshness, and pure tastes of local meats and fresh produce.

Good Pizza

It's my regular spot if I need a pizza fix. Their prices are good, service is friendly and fast. Their housewines are usually good as well. As I put in the description, it's a place for the locals. Opens at 7pm but don't go there before eight though. There's also a bar next door for a beer afterwards.

Not off the beaten track

I've been living in this city for three years now, and in the first year I indeed visited it regularly. I'd say, if your here for only two-three days and have no means of transportation but public, definitely try it. I live on the fourth floor overlooking their terrace, and let me clearly affirm, it's not where the Italians go. In fact, I had a taxi driver once confirming this to me :)) Because it's famous (in lonely planet), and centrally located, it's also not really for the budget traveller...

Hey, I really like all your Florence reviews, have you been to any other places in Tuscany/Italy?
