I've been living in this city for three years now, and in the first year I indeed visited it regularly. I'd say, if your here for only two-three days and have no means of transportation but public, definitely try it. I live on the fourth floor overlooking their terrace, and let me clearly affirm, it's not where the Italians go. In fact, I had a taxi driver once confirming this to me :)) Because it's famous (in lonely planet), and centrally located, it's also not really for the budget traveller...

I was in Florence with some Italians, and they walked up to a random person on the street and asked them where we should go for dinner. And so we discovered Trattoria Za Za. This place is fucking fantastic, pages and pages of antipasto and primi and secondi. I especially loved the riboletto, the Florentine steak and the tiramisu, but you will kick yourself if you don't try the tagliatelle with cinghale (wild boar sauce). it is seriously the best pasta I've ever had.
