Coolidge Corner Theatre always has a nice selection of films playing, but the real highlight of this old-fashioned theatre for me is the special events. My first movie here was a midnight showing of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" with Fight Club-style porn slices in fake previews. The Coolidge was responsible for bringing the Prince sing-along to Boston, and for that they should forever be thanked. They also screened Pauly Shore's movie in the middle of a snowstorm with Pauly Shore stuck at the theatre.

This is a great independent, not-for-profit theater. They screen all variety of independent, foreign, classic and cult films as well as some live performances. My favorite Coolidge Corner Theatre memories include...dancing in the aisles during a screening of Stop Making Sense, seeing Tammy Faye personally present her documentary The Eyes of Tammy Faye, The Future Bible Heroes concert and always the Spike and Mike animation festival.
