No kidding Around Pizza Place

5.0 Stars

So I know you are way too snooty to even think about eating American fare while you are traveling, but trust me on this one. Chenfye is the pizza king of Chiang Mai. He makes the only acceptable pizza and when you’ve been here for a couple months, the thought of eating one more rice and curry dish will make you want to run for the closest American chain restaurant. Hush my mouth!

So this Singapore native, transplant to Chiang Mai, is nothing short of a pizza pie genius. Seriously, he learned how to make pizzas on the Internet! While an individual pie can set you back six or seven dollars, you can probably share one. Usually three people can share two pies. Recently, I had his special of fresh parmesan and garlic and although I shared it, could totally have eaten the whole pie. He welcomes feedback too. On my first trip, I said, “So as a New Yorker, I hold my pizza to a pretty high standard and I gotta say the only thing this is missing is garlic salt.” And voila…on my second visit, garlic salt materialized. In addition to pizza, he has wine specials and a range of Thai beers to wash it all down. He also has a comfort food breakfast special when you are craving your cheerios or English breakfast.

Set back behind the Tesco on Nimmanhaemin, in a little mall complex, called the Punna Plaza, check out the couple of cute shops and the fancy nail salon before you go to pizza heaven. Sadly, I am missing his pizza eating competition. If you go, tell him Chloe sent you. Xox-Chloe
