Milwaukee Art Museum. [Neighborhood Unavailable].

Wha?? Milwaukee has an awesome art museum? Yessir. The building itself is a modern marvel, with “wings” that open and shut regularly during the day. Its permanent collection is pretty impressive, ranging from American folk art to Baroque furniture to German expressionist painting. Its temporary exhibits usually seem to be modern/contemporary and they seem to be generally awesome, too- some upcoming exhibits include Warhol’s final decade, post-war photography, and prints from the 1980's. When I went there, there was a huge contemporary art exhibit with some interactive art, such as an “infinity room” and a sculpture that played different musical notes based on where you held your hand. The MAM really impressed me; I might even go so far as to say that I prefer it over Chicago’s Art Institute…maybe.
