New Yorkers are always complaining about how there's no good Mexican food around. But these are probably the same New Yorkers who are too above hanging out in Brooklyn, since that's where all the good Mexican is. Mexico 2000, in particular, is about as real as it gets - located in the back of a bodega, this tiny taqueria offers up fresh tacos, tortas, tamales and more to hordes of ravished Latinos on their lunch break. Seriously, you'll probably be the only one in here who can't speak Spanish. You're lucky if you can snag one of the 4 2-tops, even luckier if you can sit facing the Spanish soap operas that are always on.
