Best Bet in the Tourist Center »

Maoz isn't the greatest falafel, but it is cheap and taste pretty good. They have several locations in Amsterdam all around the tourist sites so it's good if you want something quick and easy. Not the best thing Amsterdam has to offer but if you're sick of Fries with Mayo you can get some veggies and protein in this way.

Kind of a global chain »

Maoz is pretty good, but its like a global chain i mean they have one in philadelphia.

but i guess its true you don't notice much in the way of decent street food going on in amsterdam so it makes sense if you need a bite

The best way to eat cheap/healthy. »

There's no shortage of snacks you can eat while walking in Amsterdam, but not a lot of them offer legit nutrition. Instead of picking a fried sandwich out of a glass box or having another tasty cone of mayonnaise-covered frites, go to one of the Maoz locations. Expert cheapo travelers pack a day's worth of vegetables into their pitas and get a full meal with falafel and a drink for less than 6 euros. Inexpensive, efficient, vegan-friendly, and open late, Maoz is a great quick eat in Amsterdam if you've been ignoring the bottom layer of the food pyramid.
