The name literally mean "freedom" in Arabic. Drinking is not prohibited in Egypt but it is kind of frowned upon. This was the only place outside of the hotel bars that we felt comfortable drinking in. I was with a female (women are looked at as second hand citizens). They serve local bean-type things with the beers instead of pretzels or nuts. Cheap beers. You get a large Stella (local egyptian beer which i found to be delicious) for about 2 beers. Really neat place where you could see expats mixing with locals all enjoying a drink and some converstation. Tough to find...just ask someone walking on the street...everyone is so friendly they will be happy to help you.
