Croxley Ales. Alphabet City.

Out of all the sights in NYC, I made sure to check out this spot because it is quite recession- and budget traveler-friendly.
The wings weren't the best, but hey - you get what you pay for... and I think I ended up paying for more for extra sauces than actual wings. Nevertheless, I definitely came down with a case of meat sweats after this outing.

Good thing they have great selection of indie crafted booze to take care of that, apparently you get a free shirt if you try each one. Too bad my short trip and brokeness could not accommodate that challenge.
They were playing 3 different Canadian hockey games when I was there, which almost made me long for my home and native land. Almost.

Always busy, always bustling, why? Because of their DEALS. The best deal? Ten-cent wings Mondays and Wednesdays. I'm talking huge, juicy, meaty wings, dripping with mild, medium, hot or BBQ sauces. You have to order in droves of 20 but it's worth the $2.00. These wings are AMAZING, and laced with crack - I go back every week just for them.

The bar itself specializes in imports and domestic microbrews (ask for Bud Light and you'll be shown the door). Tons of beer on tap, specialty beers in bottles and English pub fare for when you get hungry.

Croxley's is a great place to catch a sports game on one of their many TVs. The LES venue is quite small and fills up fast, so if you don't mind wandering a bit you can hop a train to Long Island and visit one of their other locations in Franklin Square, Rockville Centre or Farmingdale. Same deal, same wings, same happenin' atmosphere that will keep you coming back for more.
