Hang out in an alley and drink »

4.0 Stars

For the first week, we stomped around San Juan every night, playing pool at El Batey or going to the Nuyoriquen. We never really went to Nuyoriquen, the trendy bar/nightclub, but the alleyway behind it called the Callejon de la Capilla. Late on a Friday or Saturday night the alley was filled with kids, mostly of the artist and hipster crowd, and a few punks. The reason that everyone came here was that there was a tiny bar that sold cheap cans of Medalla or Presidente that you drank in the alley. It wasn’t really a bar. It was a bodega with bathrooms.

The Capilla scene was really fun. I was introduced to a lot of people here who were onto other things going on around town. Like La Noche de las Galerias. Free wine!
