Laclede’s Landing was described to me as “St. Louis’ own Bourbon Street.” During the day, it is incredibly charming with its cobblestone streets, horse and carriages, brick buildings, and a perfect riverfront location. At night, the bars come alive, but the place takes on too much of a “clubby” atmosphere for my taste. I’m more into chilled-out drinking, so going here on a Saturday night was a big mistake. But the daytime atmosphere redeemed it for me, even if did seem like a bit of a tourist haven.
