Description:

2 excellent beaches south of the main city centre of Newcastle. Caves Beach has some caves under the cliff which are great to explore on low tide. Blacksmiths is the beach close to the entrance to lake Macquarie and is the southern end of Redhead beach. Good fishing off the breakwall.
