The perfect place to go to escape the tours, Józsefváros caters to a younger, professional crowd. It's a great district to walk around and feel like you are truly a part of the local scene.

There is a museum on every corner, so getting your culture kicks is not a problem. Older, smaller universities are also in abundance and many establishments cater to the student and professional crowd. Expect cheap eats, cool music venues and a laid back vibe.

Upper-middle class district located southeast along the river. Quiet, chock full of unique museums, boutiques and inexpensive restaurants. Large student area and the establishments cater to their lifestyle. Get off the beaten path in Budapest and check out Józsefváros!
