Sweet little restaurant-good music, good eats, beautiful volcano views ...view spot
Description:
Settled at the foot of three towering volcanos, Antigua is a darkly sweet city, hip to the worldly bohemian travelers, and home to an array of shops, churches, restaurants, and Spanish language schools. It's colonial Spanish meets indigenous Technicolor meets lazy Sunday.
To fully feel the many roots that feed this city, visit during the Catholic Holy week of Easter. Thousands gather under the dusty sun to carry a large wooden float of Jesus down flower-lined streets. Wind through the throng of people to the tune of a big brass band and end the day by dipping into a restaurant for a refreshing “simerone” and a fulfilling meal.
Payin' them bills...
